We booked in Holland a mid-sized car at Budget car rental to pick up at the airport. We got the most scruffy car on the lot. Made this picture to prove that we hadn't done this while it was in our care.
Anyway to see Ireland you have to rent a car, public transport is no option. Gas prices are by European standards cheap (we paid on average a little under 90 eurocents a liter, in Holland the prices are now around € 1,13 a liter). And yep, driving is on the left side and steering wheel right, shift with your left hand. Luckily Steph did most of the drivin'.
In the evening we went into Dublin. This is Findlaters Church (officially Abbey Presbyterian Church) on Parnell square. Completed in 1864.
This is the Regency hotel in Dublin that we pre-booked for two nights. Perfectly located between the airport and downtown.
Kees in the residents' lounge of the hotel, looks all quite British.
